5th Annual Martin Luther King Day Celebration for Social Justice

• January 2012

What a wonderful night of music at our Martin Luther King Day Concert! We were thrilled to have so many terrific musicians join us to honor Martin Luther King and raise money for Beacon's very own Howland Cultural Center. We thank everybody who participated and supported this event.

Writing for Human Rights

letter writing

In honor of Human Rights Day, a group of us got together to join in on Amnesty International's 'Write for Rights' international letter writing campaign. We composed fifteen letters! We also had the opportunity to preview the CD release of Chimes of Freedom: The Songs of Bob Dylan Celebrating 50 Years of Amnesty International. We were excited to hear all 75 songs sung by 80 artists, including our song, Forever Young, which we recorded with our inspiration, Pete Seeger.

Howland Center Holiday Hoot

The Howland Cultural Center's annual Holiday Hoot was so much fun. We performed, for the first time, You and Me, a wondeful song that Travis Jeffrey wrote for us. The whole show was great and we had a terrific time hanging out on the staircase dancing and singing during the other performances. The Howland Cultural Center is very special to us and we love performing there! Thanks to Chris Ruhe for inviting us.
